The columnist Jan Glidewell once said, “You can clutch the past so tightly to your chest that it leaves your arms too full to embrace the present.” ACCEPTING what is is probably the MOST important of all spiritual practices. And certainly as we age, we get a lot of opportunities to practice that.

In his book, Everything Belongs, Richard Rohr talks about the Spirit of God being like a river and he writes,

“Strangely, your life is not about ‘you’. It is part of a much larger stream called God. Faith might be precisely that ability to trust the river, to trust the flow and the lover.
